Dhurandhar Marks Ranveer Singh’s First ‘A’ Rated Film; Final Runtime Set at 214 Minutes; CBFC Censors Violent Scenes and Mutes Expletive

With just three days left until its release, anticipation for the Ranveer Singh-starrer Dhurandhar continues to grow. After breaking exclusive news about this action-packed entertainer, Bollywood Hungama now reveals the film’s official cut details. Initially rumored to run approximately 3 hours and 32 minutes, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has confirmed the final runtime at 214 minutes and 1 second — that’s 3 hours, 34 minutes, and 1 second.
This makes Dhurandhar the longest Bollywood film in 17 years, equaling the length of the historical epic Jodhaa Akbar (2008).In addition, Dhurandhar has secured an ‘A’ (Adult) certificate, marking Ranveer Singh’s first adult-rated film in 15 years.Regarding censorship, the CBFC requested several changes. A Hindi voiceover disclaimer was added, extending its duration. Anti-drug and anti-smoking statics were inserted in scenes depicting substance consumption. Violent visuals at the film’s start were trimmed and replaced with less graphic shots.
Further reductions in violent content were mandated for the second half. The name of a minister character was altered, and a cuss word was muted to meet censorship guidelines. At the same time, the filmmakers enriched the end credits by adding music and extra scenes during the certification process.
Once these edits were completed, the CBFC issued the censor certificate on December 2. Produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, Dhurandhar also stars Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film is set for theatrical release on December 5. Stay tuned to know more about it and others only with us.
