Dhanush Unveils Ilaiyaraaja Biopic Poster Alongside Music Composer Kamal Haasan
On Wednesday, National Award-winning actor Dhanush unveiled the first poster of his upcoming movie, which is based on the life of legendary music composer Ilaiyaraaja. Titled “Ilaiyaraaja,” the film will be directed by Arun Matheswaran, who recently helmed Dhanush’s latest release, “Captain Miller.” Dhanush took to his social media pages to share the poster, expressing his honor to work on the project with Ilaiyaraaja.
The poster announcement event was attended not only by Dhanush and the veteran music composer but also by actor Kamal Haasan. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared a video from the event, stating, “ILAIYARAAJA BIOPIC: ILAIYARAAJA, KAMAL HAASAN, DHANUSH GRACE GRAND ANNOUNCEMENT EVENT… The much-awaited biopic on music maestro #Ilaiyaraaja was announced in the presence of music maestro #Ilaiyaraaja, #KamalHaasan, #Dhanush, and several dignitaries.”

The movie will chronicle the life and accomplishments of Ilaiyaraaja, who is considered one of India’s greatest music composers. With a career spanning over five decades, Ilaiyaraaja has composed over 7,000 songs for more than 1,000 films and has performed over 20,000 concerts worldwide. He has been honored with the Padma Bhushan in 2010 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2018, two of India’s highest civilian honors.

“Ilaiyaraaja” will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. The film is backed by Connekkt Media, PK Prime Production, and Mercuri Movies, with Sriram Bakthisaran, C K Padma Kumar, Varun Mathur, Ilamparithy Gajendran, and Saurabh Mishra serving as producers. The cinematography will be handled by Nirav Shah.
Apart from “Ilaiyaraaja,” Dhanush has also written and directed “Raayan” and will be seen in filmmaker Sekhar Kammula’s “Kubera,” alongside Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, and Jim Sarbh.
