Talking about the film, Tushar Jalota directed Dasvi, a social comedy film that is backed by Jio Studios and Dinesh Vijan. While Bachchan portrays an illiterate politician, Yami Gautam portrays an IPS officer. The story is reported to be based on the true story of former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala, who, at the age of 82, passed his Class XII exam while serving a prison sentence for his role in the teachers’ recruitment scandal.

Meanwhile, Abhishek had received a lot of appreciation for his spectacular role in the film. The actor will be seen playing the role of Ganga Ram Chaudhary, who has decided to take the board exams for 10th standard from jail. The movie is slated to release on April 7 and will be premiered on the OTT platform Netflix as well as Jio Cinema.
