With a huge buzz in the media and so much of anticipation, the Rajinikanth’s starrer Darbar hit the screens yesterday. As expected, the movie had a flying start by getting highly impressive figures on the first day. The Indian state that did huge at the box office was Tamil Nadu, which did a stupendous business. As per reports, the occupancy at both the single and multiplex screens was huge and the collection reached a massive figure.
As per reports, the 1st-day box office collection for Darbar was not less than 38 Crores, while the Indian state – Tamil Nadu bagged 20 crores on day one. The film was able to bring out in big numbers during the entire weekend despite the mixed reviews given by most of the critics. All thanks to the huge fan following of the superstar, the overwhelming response was so obvious.
The film is directed by AR Murugadoss, while the film had Rajinikanth playing the iconic police officer role after 25 years. We last saw the action in the cop avatar was in the film Pandian in 1992, while his other films in similar roles include the role called Alex Pandian from “Moondru Mugam“, which hit the screens in 1982. Recently, we saw a special poster of the actor coming on his 70th birthday. The poster also has Rajinikanth seen walking majestically having a fiery avatar. Meanwhile, the experts feel that Darbar would gain huge on the first weekend perhaps enter into the 100 Crore club for sure. Stay tuned to know more on it only with us.
