As Varun Dhawan celebrated his birthday, his father took the chance to make Coolie. No. 1 as the official third film of the father and son. The film has Sara Ali Khan opposite Varun Dhawan, which is a remake of the film – Coolie No. 1 starring Govinda and Karishma Kapoor released in 1995. Varun however, is busy with the film Street Dancer 3D and is preparing for the next film. The makers are now planning to embark with other details and the first thing they want to do is the title.

The makers are expected to name the film as Coolie No. 2 just the way the father and son named their previous film – Judwaa 2. Although the official announcement is yet to be made but the sources close to them feel that the above-said title is perfect. Now, talking about the remake of the film, it happens to be a remake of the 1995 Coolie. No. 1, however, it will have a couple of changes in it although the core plot would remain the same. Varun Dhawan would be playing the role of Govinda while Sara Ali Khan would play the role of Karishma Kapoor.

Varun Dhawan would have a different avatar when compared to Govinda. He would be playing the role of Coolie at Mumbai Central and have jeans and a T-shirt. The film will be directed by David Dhawan, while Vashu Bhagnani is the producer of the film. The film is expected to hit the floor in August 2019. The makers have decided to retain the two songs from the Orignal one which includes Main To Raste Se Jaa Raha ha and Husn Hai Suhana.
