‘Coolie’ Box Office Collection Day 4: Rajinikanth’s Film Outperforms Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s ‘War 2’ Over Opening Weekend, Poised to Cross Rs. 200 Crore Domestically

Rajinikanth’s movies have always been more than just films for his fans—they are grand celebrations, and Coolie is no exception. Released on August 14, the film has been embraced like a festival in theaters across the country. From the moment it was announced, Coolie generated immense buzz and lived up to expectations with a powerful opening.

Despite facing stiff competition from Bollywood’s high-profile spy thriller War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani, Coolie secured the top spot at the box office from day one.Trade reports reveal that even after the opening weekend, Coolie continues to dominate, racing toward the Rs. 200 crore mark within just four days. The film’s success highlights Rajinikanth’s enduring appeal and the deep connection he shares with audiences, who flock to theaters not just for entertainment but to celebrate the superstar’s legacy.

According to Sacnilk, on its fourth day (Sunday), Coolie collected approximately Rs. 34 crore across Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada markets in India. Although this represents a 13% drop from Saturday’s Rs. 39 crore, the film’s four-day total has reached a strong Rs. 193.25 crore net domestically. At this pace, Coolie is expected to surpass the Rs. 200 crore milestone by Monday (day 5).Breaking down collections by language, the highest revenue came from Tamil, followed by Telugu, then Hindi, and finally Kannada.

‘Coolie’ Outshines ‘War 2’ Over Opening Weekend

In comparison, Ayan Mukerji’s War 2 earned Rs. 33.25 crore on Saturday and Rs. 31 crore on Sunday. Since its release on August 14, War 2 has accumulated Rs. 173.60 crore net in India over four days. War 2 is an action spy thriller featuring Hrithik Roshan as Kabir Dhaliwal, a former secret agent turned fugitive, and Jr NTR, making his Bollywood debut as RAW chief Vikrant Kaul tasked with capturing Kabir. Meanwhile, Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is a crime thriller set around Visakhapatnam harbor starring Rajinikanth.
