Reports have circulated for some time about the upcoming teaser, and Bollywood Hungama has now confirmed that the promotional unveiling is set to occur in just a few days.
Upcoming Promo Launch
The announcement promo will be launched in grand style on Thursday, July 3, at a prominent multiplex in central Mumbai. According to a message from the publicity team to the media, the makers will exclusively unveil ‘Ramayana: The Introduction’, offering the first official glimpse into Namit Malhotra’s vision for this landmark cinematic event, which is poised to be one of the biggest films ever produced. However, it remains unclear whether the film’s team and cast will be in attendance at this significant event.
Previous Speculations
There had been speculation that the initial glimpse of Ramayana would be presented at WAVES 2025, which took place from May 1-4, 2025. On May 5, a title announcement video lasting 2 minutes and 36 seconds was approved by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with a ‘U’ certificate. Subsequently, on June 23, a longer 3-minute video received CBFC certification and also garnered a ‘U’ rating.
Star-Studded Cast
Ramayana boasts an impressive cast, featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, and KGF star Yash as Ravana. The film is directed by Nitesh Tiwari, renowned for his work in Dangal and Chhichhore.
Innovative Global Reach
During WAVES, Namit Malhotra of Prime Focus revealed exciting plans to take Ramayana to audiences worldwide using AI technology. He stated, “We want to make it feel local to the world. With the use of technology, we are attempting to localize the film in various languages with performances that sync with the original. This means it should play in English with lip-sync; no subtitles or dubbed versions. In Spain, it should be in Spanish, and in Japan, it should be in Japanese. This is achievable thanks to technology.”
The first part of Ramayana is scheduled for release in cinemas on Diwali 2026, followed by the second part on Diwali 2027.
