Cocktail 2 Trailer Set for May 29; Media Gets Sneak Peek of Tracks ‘Mashooka’ and ‘Tujhko’
The team behind Cocktail 2 hosted a high-energy event at a premium restobar in central Mumbai on Sunday, May 17. The star-studded gathering delivered a major surprise to the media in attendance. Lead actors Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna attended the bash alongside producers Dinesh Vijan and Luv Ranjan, director Homi Adajania, and music maestro Pritam Chakraborty. The big surprise turned out to be an exclusive first look at two very different tracks from the film’s highly anticipated album, titled “Mashooka” and “Tujhko.”
The exclusive preview offered an exciting glimpse into the film’s parallel romantic dynamics and stunning visuals. The first song, “Mashooka,” features Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon and was filmed across picturesque locations in Sicily, Italy. This foot-tapping number showcases the duo in a playful, goofy mood before transitioning into a high-energy, seductive dance sequence. In contrast, “Tujhko” is a soulful, slow romantic track sung by Arijit Singh that shifts the focus to Shahid Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna. The song’s narrative hints at a deep backstory, suggesting their characters were college sweethearts separated by circumstances.
In a unique promotional move, the filmmakers left the song release strategy entirely up to the journalists in attendance. After the screenings, the media was asked to vote on which track should drop first, initially through a loud shout-out and later via a live QR code poll. “Mashooka” ultimately won the popular vote, sparking some lighthearted banter among the crew who were fiercely divided because they considered both songs equally strong. While the team playfully debated the results, composer Pritam Chakraborty insisted on honoring the room’s verdict, and producer Dinesh Vijan officially confirmed that “Mashooka” will release first, swiftly followed by “Tujhko.”
The preview of “Tujhko” also came with an additional easter egg for the audience. The song concludes with a title card confirming that the official trailer for Cocktail 2 will launch on May 29. With its music campaign officially underway and the trailer date locked in, Cocktail 2 is fully prepared for its worldwide theatrical release on June 19.
