Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey Creates Ticket Price Shock: Pune Charges ₹3,000, Delhi’s Paras Starts at ₹370

Advance ticket bookings for Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated film, The Odyssey, officially opened in India at 10:00 AM today, June 8, 2026, even though the movie’s theatrical release is still more than a month away. Universal Pictures has initially opened ticket sales for only two premium IMAX shows per day—one in the early morning and one in the evening or night. While industry trade experts predicted that ticket prices nationwide would reach record-breaking highs to surpass Nolan’s previous film Oppenheimer or the recent 2026 hit Dhurandhar The Revenge, fans have been pleasantly surprised to find that many IMAX screens are offering fairly reasonable rates.
Ticket prices vary drastically depending on the theater and location, with Mumbai offering some of the most affordable options alongside premium rates. The luxurious Inox Malad stands out as the cheapest venue in the city, with morning tickets priced between ₹450 and ₹520, and evening tickets ranging from ₹700 to ₹800. Erox IMAX is charging similar reasonable rates starting at ₹500 for morning slots. Meanwhile, PVR Lower Parel moves into slightly more expensive territory, with tickets scaling up to ₹1400 for its prime night show. The highest pricing in the region belongs to Cinepolis, where tickets at their Thane property touch ₹1600, and their Seawoods location features no tickets under ₹1300, maxing out at ₹2000 for the evening experience.
In the Delhi-NCR region, ticket costs cover a wide spectrum, ranging from luxury pricing to the lowest rates in the country. PVR Vegas Dwarka has set its prices in the four-digit range, with tickets climbing up to ₹1050 for both daily shows. PVR Priya keeps its standard seating very reasonable between ₹450 and ₹490, though its premium recliners jump to ₹1400. PVR Superplex Noida and Inox Vishal Mall sit comfortably in the middle, with tickets ranging from ₹640 to ₹810 depending on the showtime. Surprisingly, Inox Paras in Delhi is offering the absolute cheapest tickets for The Odyssey across all of India, with morning tickets starting at just ₹370 and evening tickets maxing out at an affordable ₹650.
Moving across the major South Indian hubs and Kolkata, ticket pricing remains relatively stable and standardized. Moviegoers at Cinepolis Nexus in Bengaluru can expect to pay between ₹900 and ₹1000 for both slots, while Cinepolis Kochi is selling tickets across a tier of ₹750 to ₹950. The popular Broadway cinema in Coimbatore has simplified things for fans by offering a flat admission rate of ₹508.34.
