Choreographer Ganesh Acharya granted bail in sexual harassment case

Ganesh Acharya, a national award-winning choreographer, may now finally exhale. The most recent reports state that a Mumbai magistrate court has given Ganesh bail in a sexual harassment case. For the uninitiated, Ganesh Acharya was detained in February 2020 following a report of an alleged attack on a choreographer’s assistant at the Amboli police station in the nearby area. She claimed in her lawsuit that Acharya used to force her to watch explicit movies whenever they met in his office.

The assistant choreographer mentioned that other women had also suffered at his hands in addition to her. Additionally, the complainant claimed that Ganesh assaulted her and two other people in 2020 during a gathering. She also alleged that he had previously harassed her sexually. According to reports, Ganesh Acharya was accused of voyeurism and sexual harassment by Mumbai Police in April of this year. He was never detained in relation to the incident nevertheless. In the most recent update, the Dehati Disco star appeared before the magistrate’s court and was given bail.

Ganesh Acharya was the subject of a case filed against him under sections 354-A (sexual harassment), 354-C (watching or photographing a woman performing a private act), 354-D (stalking), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 509 (word, gesture, or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the IPC.
The 51-year-old dancer has refuted all of his assistant choreographer’s accusations, though.

In his professional life, Ganesh Acharya recently appeared in the dance-based movie “Dehati Disco,” in which he played the lead.
