Children’s Day: Tv shows that brought talented child artists as lead

Children’s Day: Indian TV shows have often introduced child actors and entertained us with stories revolving around kids. No doubt, kids form an integral part of the television industry and are no less than grown-up actors. I have grown up watching Kinshuk Vaidya’s Shaka Laka Boom Boom and Tanvi Hegde’s Son Pari and have loved them a lot. These shows were memorable and are still close to my heart.

Well, being someone who loves kids, I am an avid watcher of TV shows that revolve around kids. Some of them are really cool and I wonder how they started acting so beautifully at such a young age. Today, on the occasion of Children’s Day, I am gonna list some of the child actors who left me so impressed that they are now my favourites.

Arsheen Namdar in Naam Karan

Mahesh Bhatt’s interesting offering on Star Plus, Naamkaran, was truly amazing and a one-of-a-kind show. With its unique plot and stellar star cast, the show managed to engross viewers consistently. The star of this show was the lead character, Avni, played by child actor Arsheen Namdar. OMG! I can’t express how amazing she was.

With her perfect acting and amazing facial expressions, she made me emotional many times. How can I forget to mention the Lori song she sings at the beginning of the show? When she sang “Aa leke chalun tujhko ik aise des mein, milti hai jahan khushiyaan pariyon ke bhes mein,” it just stole my heart.

Aakriti Sharma in Kulfi Kumar Bajewala

Another unforgettable show for me is child artist Aakriti Sharma’s Kulfi Kumar Bajewala. Her portrayal of a sweet, innocent, kind, and a caring little girl was something everyone could feel. This is the reason why the show’s TRP was always amazing throughout its run. Akriti played a village girl with a god-given talent for singing. She steps out in search of her singer father after the death of his mother. Aakriti Sharma and Mohit Malik recreated “Tum Aa Gaye Ho” so amazing that it will always remain close to my heart. I would like to watch the show as a playlist for my Children’s Day.

Spandan Chaturvedi in Yeh Hauslon Ki Udaan Hai

I watched this show, and I must say that Spandan, as little Chakor, was the fire. Her stubbornness, her brave nature, and her innocence were visible in the show. In Udaan, she played a village girl who was declared a slave even before her birth. How she refuses to bend in front of landlord Kamal Narayan and does everything to set herself and her entire village free is worth watching.

Avika Gor (now grown up) in Balika Vadhu

Even after so many years, Avika Gor’s Balika Vadhu remains among the favourites. The second season couldn’t set the same standards that this one did. We saw cute little Avika Gaur as Anandi in the show. From an intelligent student in her class to getting into child marriage, her story moved forward, creating an impact on many. It was one of the most popular shows of its time since it discussed social issues with a meaningful message at the end of every episode. Since it is children’s Day, I can’t forget to count this character.

Vansh Sayani in Baalveer Returns

This superhero-based kid show is loved by many children today, and it awakened the kid inside me. Well, just because you are an adult doesn’t mean you are forbidden to watch kids’ shows. I believe this, and I watched it. I must say that Vansh Sayani’s introduction as the new Balveer was a correct decision for the makers. His bindaas, daring, and fearless style and, at the same time, his cuteness and kid vibe made him perfect to portray the character of a little superhero in the show.

The show was loved by the audience and had many loyal viewers until it was finally axed after the pandemic.
