Plot:

The film is based on the Battle of Saragarhi fought in the year 1897. The film talks about the story of Havildar Ishar Singh who had participated in the Battle of Saragarhi where the history had witnessed an army of 21 Sikhs fighting against the tough 10,000 Afghans in the said year. So, how it went would be interesting to explore in your nearby theatre.
Review
The film has many debuts, right from bringing Karan and Akki for the first under the banner of Dharma Productions to Parineeti Chopra as well working for the first time with the Khiladi of B Town. War films are not often simple to make but with Karan Johar, he has left no stone unturned to use massive sets and VFX effects and other resources to recreate the 1897 war look realistic over the silver screen. It took long for a filmmaker to pick up this important event from the history and make a film so in a sense, Karan Johar has paid tribute to the Sikh warriors by picking up the battle of Saragarhi.

The film honors the valor of Sikh soldiers who have fought courageously against the deadly army. The script seems good and so are the sets. Talking about the star cast, Akshay plays the lead role Havildar Ishar Singh, who leads the Sikhs in the said by defending 10,000 Afghan invaders. He did a fabulous job with great action in his heart. On the other side, Parineeti Chopra has a smaller role to play; however, she has a small screen space to offer. Talking about the other things, the music, the screenplay, editing and other elements seemed okay somewhere helping to boost the entertainment value of the film.

Kesari The Last Word

The film Kesari is based on war and thus can only attract people who are either the fan of Akshay Kumar or have an interest in this genre. The film can be a worthy watch this weekend if you fall into this category as you can catch fierce action in the B Town film.
