CBFC Clears Param Sundari Without Visual Cuts but Requests Audio Changes

The much-anticipated romcom Param Sundari is set to hit theaters on Friday, August 29, generating excitement thanks to its catchy songs, talented cast, and engaging storyline. Recently, the film successfully cleared the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), and Bollywood Hungama brings you the details of the certification process.
The good news for fans is that the CBFC did not demand any visual cuts. This comes as a relief since the board has recently censored intimate scenes in films like Saiyaara and War 2. Many were concerned that the popular track “Bheegi Saree” from Param Sundari might face similar scrutiny.
However, the song remains intact without any cuts. That said, the CBFC’s Examining Committee did request several audio and subtitle modifications. The word “bastard” was replaced with “idiot” in the subtitles. Additionally, the words “bloody” and “church” were muted in the audio and removed from the subtitles. The word “father” was also muted during the film.
On a positive note, the song “Sun Mere Yaar Ve,” which plays during the end credits, was approved without alteration. After these adjustments, Param Sundari received a U/A 13+ certificate from the CBFC. The official runtime listed on the certificate is 136 minutes, making the film 2 hours and 16 minutes long.
Param Sundari stars Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles. Directed by Tushar Jalota and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, the film is all set for its August 29 release, promising an entertaining cinematic experience.
