CBFC Clears Date Announcement Teaser of Border 2 with U/A 16+ Certificate
Sunny Deol’s career soared to new heights two years ago when his action-packed film Gadar 2 grossed over Rs. 500 crores at the box office. This massive success sparked demand for more large-scale, patriotic films featuring the veteran star. Fans’ excitement skyrocketed when it was revealed that Sunny Deol had signed on for Border 2, a sequel eagerly awaited by many. Now, news has emerged that a sneak peek of this highly anticipated 2026 release will be unveiled very soon.
On Thursday, August 7, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) approved a promo for Border 2. According to the CBFC database, the asset titled ‘Date announcement teaser no 1 – Border 2’ runs for approximately 1.1 minutes (around 70 seconds) and has been granted a U/A 16+ certificate.The timing of this certification is notable, coming just a week before Independence Day. Reports suggest the teaser is planned for release on August 15, India’s Independence Day.
A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Border 2 is a patriotic film, so releasing the teaser on August 15 is perfect. The teaser will offer a glimpse into the film’s India versus Pakistan storyline and confirm its scheduled release on January 23, 2026, during Republic Day week.”Further reports reveal that after the teaser’s launch on August 15, it will be distributed to cinemas nationwide.
Multiplex chains have been requested to screen the teaser before shows of the upcoming blockbuster War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, set to release the following week.Alongside Sunny Deol, Border 2 stars Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty. The film is produced by J P Dutta and directed by Anurag Singh, promising a high-octane patriotic drama that fans eagerly await.
