CBFC Censors Swear Word in Vibe; Action Scenes Left Untouched in Kunal Kemmu-Preity Zinta Starrer
The Central Board of Film Certification has officially cleared the upcoming comedy film Vibe. The movie is set to release in theaters on September 18. It features Kunal Kemmu and Preity G Zinta in lead roles.
The censor board passed the movie without ordering any visual cuts. This means that all the intense action, romantic scenes, and violent sequences remain completely intact. The board only requested two small modifications before approving the film. First, they ordered the filmmakers to mute an explicit Hindi swear word. Second, they asked the creators to add a clear anti-drug disclaimer at the beginning of the movie.
After these minor edits were completed, the board granted the film an ‘A’ certification for mature audiences. According to the official censor certificate, the total running time of Vibe is 145 minutes and 55 seconds. That makes the final length of the film just under two and a half hours.
Vibe is a unique project for lead actor Kunal Kemmu, as he also directed the film. Alongside Kemmu and Preity Zinta, the movie features a strong supporting cast including Sparsh Shrivastava, Vanshika Dhir, Dinesh Lal Yadav, and Yashpal Sharma.
This movie marks Preity Zinta’s second major theatrical release following her recent comeback to the silver screen. Her previous film, Batwara 1947, released last month and also received an ‘A’ rating from the censor board. Vibe will hit screens on the same day as another major release, Daayra, which stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
