CBFC Allows Religion-Based Humor Intact in Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2; Only One ‘Inappropriate’ Real Name Usage Cut

The much-anticipated comedy Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 is set to hit theaters on Friday, December 12. With Kapil Sharma in the lead and the success of the original 2015 film, audiences are eager for its release. This sequel features the protagonist marrying women from different religious backgrounds, which raised concerns about possible censorship given the sensitive nature of religion-related content.

However, according to the CBFC’s cut list obtained exclusively by Bollywood Hungama, the Central Board of Film Certification requested only one change: the removal of an ‘inappropriate’ use of a real name in an early scene, replacing it with a more suitable word. “All dialogues involving religion and communities were left untouched because the makers took care not to offend any sentiments,” a source revealed.

The CBFC members reportedly appreciated this approach and found no reason for further cuts, including any visual edits. The source further explained that the film was granted a U/A 16+ rating, rather than a lower age bracket like U/A 13+ or U/A 7+, likely due to its storyline involving a man with multiple wives.

Following this single mandated cut, the makers received the censor certificate on November 25. The film runs for 142 minutes and 25 seconds—that’s 2 hours, 22 minutes, and 25 seconds. Now talking about the film, it is directed by Anukalp Goswami, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 stars Kapil Sharma alongside Hira Warina, Tridha Choudhary, Parul Gulati, Ayesha Khan, Manjot Singh, Akhilendra Mishra, Vipin Sharma, Sushant Singh, Jamie Lever, and the late Asrani.
