T-Series Files a civil suit in in Delhi High Court Against ShareChat
We see some controversy between the music company T-Series and the social media app called ShareChat based in Bangalore about the Lahari Recording done. The company has filed a civil suit in Delhi High Court asking for a legal action against the Sharechat calling it to be an intimidation tactic. The social app has been getting the flak from the music industry lately and we now see T-Series filing a case against the ShareChat for making copies of their content and releasing them for free download.
It has alleged that the social app has been monetizing from more than 2 lakh of its songs and thus obtaining an ex-parte injunction, while Lahari Music was seen preferring to file an FIR against Sharechat that further led to raid their office for similar copyright violations. The music companies have alleged that Sharechat has been using their copyrighted content without seeking a license amounts to copyright infringement as per the law of the land that remains punishable both with civil and criminal liability.
Talking about the same, the company official said that they are taking action against the social app as they have been getting the support from Internet and Mobile Operators Association in India for the same. They further claimed that when SnapChat was intimidated about the same they did not react and thus compelled them to take the legal route. The fact that they have been doing such things for past so many months and hence they had to take the required action.
