Here comes the first look poster of film Mona_Darling, which happens to be a social media horror thriller and it is set in the contemporary post-cyber world. As you dig in deep into the film, it is nothing but a contemporary who-dunnit, with a splash of supernatural stuff in it while it is set up in a college campus somewhere in India (to be specific it is based a la Indian Institute Of Technology) wherein a few mysterious deaths occur and the only common link one can find in between the victims is that, the seconds before their deaths, they all accepted a ‘Facebook friend request’ from a certain profile page of Mona_Darling.
The person behind the said social media page is Mona who happens to be missing. Her friend, and a fellow student, Sarah recruits the help of a classmate called Wiki who happens to be a borderline sociopathic genius. This odd couple of amateur sleuth is seen carrying on their investigation as the story leads them into unexpected corners and terrifying revelations. Hence one can find the film to be a pacy thriller, which is confined to limited locations on one single campus, populated by fresh, alluring, young characters.
And more importantly the social media thriller captures the present zeitgeist of young India and its obsession with social networking. Talking about the film star cast, it has Anshuman Jha, Suzzana Mukherjee, Divya Menon of (the lady from Detective Byomkesh Bakshy fame) and Sanjay Suri in the lead roles. The film Mona_Darling is slated to release on 17th February, 2017, perhaps something really different on the Valentine’s Day.
