Ram Gopal Varma compares Indira Gandhi to Kangana Ranaut, check out the actress’ reaction

Kangana Ranaut is all set to play a never seen before character in her upcoming film.

Kangana will play the role of none other than India’s former Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi, in the film, which she will direct. The actress released the movie poster along with a teaser, for which she has received praise to date. Many people, including those in the industry, expressed their love and support for the actress.

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, who tweeted about the actress today, is one of those who has praised her work. The Satya director took to Twitter to share an old interview with the former Prime Minister, in which she was compared to Kangana Ranaut. He wrote, “Believe it or not! Indira Gandhi is acting like #KanganaRanaut ..Check Indira Gandhi Full Interview 1984.”

Kangana shared Ram Gopal Varma’s tweet on her Instagram story due to her Twitter ban. She wrote, “Ha ha thank you sir it’s a reassuring considering I cast myself in this role..”

Kangana had previously shared a poster for the film Emergency, which stars Anupam Kher as JP Narayan. She told ANI, “J P Narayan was the most powerful human being to have happened after Mahatma Gandhi in politics in recent Indian history. The kind of influence he had on people was enormous. I wanted an actor who had the personality and calibre to match up to that larger-than-life persona of Lok Neta, J P Narayan.”

Kangana Ranaut wrote and directed the film Emergency. Renu Pitti and Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika Films are producing the film. Ritesh Shah wrote the screenplay and the dialogue.
