Here is some good news. Veteran actress Surekha Sikri of Balika Vadhu and Badhaai Ho fame is back home. She has been discharged from Juhu’s Criticare Hospital. It seems she was sent home on September 22. This was reported by The Times Of India. The 75-year-old National Award winning actress was admitted on September 8, 2020. It seems she has started recognising people, and is responding better. Dr. Ashutosh Shetty told The Times Of India, “Surekhaji has improved from the time she suffered the stroke. She recognises people. She is even walking with support. Of course, she will need time before she can resume working and needs physiotherapy now.”
It seems she will take time to recover fully. This is her second stroke in a couple of years. She is now at time under the care of Pinky, who has been her trusted caretaker since quite some time now. She confirmed to The Times Of India, “Honestly, her family members have forbidden me to talk. But since you have spoken to the doctor already, I can only add that Surekhaji is stable and we came home on the 22nd evening.” She has a son, Rahul from her first marriage. In 2018, she suffered a brain stroke when she was shooting for a TV show in Mahabaleshwar. She hit her head in the bathroom floor. A source told the paper, “Surekhaji was brought in to the hospital in quite a delicate condition and it was a major cause of concern as the same problem had hit her twice.” The actress was last seen in Zoya Akhtar’s Ghost Stories. She is famous in every Indian home as Dadisa.
