Buddha in a Traffic Jam falls under an autobiographical film, which is based on the life of a writer & director called Vivek Agnihotri and his life. The film is inspired by true life incidents, making a political drama with a unique chapter wise approach of a number of relevant topics that lead to the climax. The film can be called as an initiative by one of the leading B Schools – Indian School of Business, Hyderabad and is among the first Indian film that has been ever based and shot in a Business school. The star case includes Arunoday Singh, Anupam Kher, Mahi Gill, Anchal Dwivedi and Pallavi Joshi.
The film exposes the sinister politics of Naxals network with NGOs, Academia and the Indian Intelligentsia. The movie investigates the way certain universities are trying to brainwash students in order to become intellectual terrorists. Besides, the movie is also seen taking on different subjects like corruption, moral policing, campus politics, crony socialism and other relevant issues. The film was also nominated and screened at the 2014 Mumbai International Film Festival in the India Gold category getting rave reviews. The film also got the award for the category of Best Original Screenplay and was even nominated for Best film and Best Lead Actress in a Foreign Language at Madrid Film Festival, Spain.
