Junior Mehmood, Renowned Actor, Succumbs to Stomach Cancer After a Brave Battle

Naeem Sayyed, better known as Junior Mehmood, passed away peacefully at his Mumbai residence on Friday morning. The 67-year-old actor had been battling stomach cancer since its late diagnosis just 18 days prior.

His family confirmed the news in a statement, expressing their grief and requesting peace for his soul. Junior Mehmood’s son, Husnain, spoke to indianexpress.com, revealing the shockingly rapid nature of his illness.

“We only learned about his fourth-stage stomach cancer 18 days ago,” Husnain shared. “We took him to Tata Memorial Hospital, but the doctors advised against treatment due to the advanced stage and potential for severe pain.”

Instead, they recommended comfort care at home, which allowed Junior Mehmood to spend his final days surrounded by his loved ones.

Junior Mehmood leaves behind a legacy of comedic talent and memorable performances. He was a familiar face in Bollywood for decades, appearing in over 200 films across seven languages. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and fans.
