Brahmastra Box Office: Alia, Ranbir’s film is all set to surpass The Kashmir Files and become the highest Bollywood grosser of 2022

Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files earned Rs. 252.90 crores at the box office during its run, making it the highest Bollywood grosser of 2022. Only the dubbed Hindi versions of RRR and KGF: Chapter 2 outperform the film. Both of these films are South productions that have piqued the interest of audiences. With Rs. 250 crores expected to be comfortably crossed, Brahmastra is set to find itself right at the top of the list of Bollywood releases.

This is now a certainty, thanks to the spectacular jump that the Ayan Mukherji-directed film saw on Saturday, with Rs. 14.50 crores coming in. This is still higher than the first-day gross of Kartik Aryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (Rs. 14.11 crores), and that film was also a major smash. So Brahmastra doing more than that on its ninth day pretty much indicates that the film has been warmly received by viewers all over the world. In fact, with a lifetime of Rs. 192.50 crores, the Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt movie has already surpassed the entire lifespan of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (Rs. 185 crores) and even surpassed Sooryavanshi (Rs. 196 crores).

Of course, Brahmastra is also the most expensive of the bunch, and hence the numbers it generates are ideally a bare minimum expectation. Still, survival remains the aim, with only decent numbers expected, and no one is thinking too much about creating a smash or a blockbuster. With this Karan Johar film being a success, one can expect Dharma Productions, Star Studios, and other producers associated with Brahmastra to be overjoyed.
