Tiku Weds Sheru, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, falls short of delivering on its intriguing concepts

Tiku Weds Sheru is a film about a small-time pimp named Sheru who is also obsessed with the movies. He is in debt and needs money, so he agrees to marry a small-town girl named Tiku. The two of them move to Mumbai, where they discover harsh truths about each other. However, they also come to realize that their brokenness is what makes them whole.

The film opens with a scene in which Sheru is mistaken for the hero of a film set. This sets up the film’s central idea that supporting characters also have love stories to tell. However, the film never really explores this idea in depth. Instead, it focuses on the relationship between Sheru and Tiku.

The relationship between Sheru and Tiku is complex and flawed. They are both damaged people, but they also find comfort in each other’s brokenness. The film does a good job of portraying the ups and downs of their relationship. However, it ultimately fails to deliver a satisfying ending.

The film’s title, Tiku Weds Sheru, is a play on the words “tiku” and “sher”, which mean “small” and “lion” in Hindi, respectively. This suggests that the film is about two people who are unlikely partners, but who ultimately find strength in each other. The film explores the themes of love, loss, and redemption. Sheru is a character who is searching for love and acceptance, while Tiku is a character who is searching for a way to escape her past. The film suggests that these two characters can find redemption in each other.

Sai Kabir, who happens to be the director of the film has said that he wanted to make a film that was “raw, real, and unflinching”. The film does not shy away from showing the harsh realities of life, such as poverty, violence, and exploitation. However, the film also shows that there is hope even in the darkest of times. Overall, Tiku Weds Sheru is a flawed film with some interesting ideas. However, it is ultimately let down by its lack of focus and its unsatisfying ending.
