We have been hearing a lot about the sequel of Mr India and now we have something tangible coming out in the media when we see Boney Kapoor speaking about it. The film was on cards but the sudden demise of Sridevi has led the delay in the film and later many called that the project has been shelved for obvious reasons. Shekhar Kapoor who directed the film said that with no Sridevi around, the project is not going to happen. However, now we have Boney Kapoor has positive stuff to share about it.
Amrish Puri played the iconic character of Mogambo in it is also no more, while Sridevi playing the lead actress too is no more with us. When she passed away the director of the film said in a long note that it is unfortunate and sad to see her leaving this world and that has kept Mr. India on hold. He then even wrote that the film will not take place without having a lady around.
Now, when Boney Kapoor was asked about the sequel, he said that Mr India Reboot is now certain and as Sridevi is not around he has more reasons to make this film and make the franchise vital in his career. Talking about the venture, the filmmaker said that he has some basic model of the Reboot in his mind and with time he and his team would come out something interesting out of it.
He said that his late wife was counted among the serious actress at the later stage rather than the glam girl. He said he wish he could bring the original cast of the film but now its not possible to bring them all. He said since Sridevi is not around, he has now big reason to revive the film with a sequel. He further talked about the director that if Shekhar is not ready to direct it he can get some other filmmaker for the sequel.
