After the huge success of the Bollywood family drama cum humor film, Badhaai Ho, there is more news coming in support of the film. Producer Boney Kapoor has announced to remake the 2018 hit in four different South Indian languages namely, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.

Badhaai Ho was a very different story that went on beautifully starring Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao, Ayushmann Khurrana and Sanya Malhotra. The story went around an elderly couple getting in the trouble of expecting their third child while the eldest son already approached his marriage age.

As per the film ratings Badhaai Ho turned out to be amongst the top five Indian movies released in the year 2018. This is what ignited the idea in Boney’s mind and he will soon be remaking the Hindi film for the south Indian audience.

Boney talking to the media said, “I have acquired the rights of Badhaai Ho under my production house Bayview for all the south Indian languages. I was keen on remaking it as it is a film that resonates with both the masses and classes.”

Apart from this upcoming project of Boney, he is already involved in the remake of the 2016 hit Hindi film Pink working with the Tamil star Ajith. Answering the question about why he was remaking Hindi films, he replied, “Earlier I used to buy rights of south Indian films to make in Hindi. Now I am reversing the process.”

One of the Boney backed remake of the South Indian origin was the Salman Khan-starrer Wanted, which was drawn from the Telugu film, Pokiri.

It is expected that Boney Kapoor will once again team up with Ajith for the remake. The shooting for the film will be started in July and is expected to release in April 2020. In his last words he said, “The subject is still not finalised.”
