 Bombay HC Asks CBFC To Explain The Cuts in Udta Punjab

In the recent update about Udta Punjab and its tussle with Censor Board, the Bombay High Court has to intervene asking the CBFC to explain about the 13 changes it has suggested for the film when it was seen defending the changes suggested by the review committee. The suggested changes are proper and justified claims the censor board during the hearing of the petition, which was field by the Anurag Kashyap before the court bench. The judge however, referred to another movie of 2013 called Go Goa Gone that dealt with a place having the issue of drug abuse and consumption.

The judge questioned if Goa can be used in a movie for the drug abuse there isn’t anything wrong for Punjab being used in the said movie. The lawyer representing the board raised objections about the use of Punjab in it along with the language and people used in this movie. Despite the fact that the lawyer of the board claimed that the board was doing its job as per the set parameters of the board, the Bombay High Court has asked for the clarifications apart from questioning about deletion of words like MP, MLA or election from the movie. Now, f you look at the latest about the case, the court has adjourned the session till Monday when the final verdict would come.

The court is adjourned till Friday as the lawyer from CBFC would be submitted the papers on the same day. It was on 8th when the Phantom Films representing Anurag Kashyap knocked the doors of the court asking to intervene in the matter. The court then heard the matter on Thursday and thus has been adjourned for a day, which is expected to be seen soon. The film is directed by Abhishek Chaubey, which has a couple of stars in the movie like Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor to name a few. With the matter in the court, the releasing date can be hampered.
