It’s a sad day there for the B Town audience as we see the film producer S Sriram passing away. The Bombay film fame producer is no more as he left for the heavenly abode getting a sudden cardiac arrest. Fondly known as ‘Aalayam’ Sriram, the producer was in his early sixties. The producer has worked with Mani Ratnam on a couple of ventures. He also produced the National award-winning movie called Bombay released in 1993 along with Thridua Thiruda, which was made under his production house called Aalayam Productions which had done with Ratnam.
While talking about his sudden demise, Mani Ratnam’s wife Suhasini Mani Ratnam said to the media that he was their great partner during their days on Aalayam. They had produced a number of films and given hits like Bombay, Kshatriyan, Dasarathan, and Aasai. She further added saying that the producer was full of life and the best friend of Mani Ratnam. While talking about his wife, she said she and Nalini Sriram were also good friends during their days of Hyderabad.
While sharing about her friendship with Sriram’s wife, she said they first knew each other and later introduced their husbands as well who in turn also become good friends. She said that she and her husband have also stayed at their Hyderabad’s residence in 1988 and thus have good memories. Talking about the director, she said that Sriram was a calm and composed person with a great sense of humor. He has always remained a dignified and magnanimous person.
