Bollywood Celebs at Grand Finale of Sandip Soparrkar’s “3rd India Dance Week”

The “3rd India Dance Week” is a vibrant celebration of Indian and World dances coming together on one single platform, this super energetic festival ended on a grand note on 30th April, 2016 at Dublin Square in Phoenix Market City, kurla.

The India Dance Week is one of the largest, most active and thrilling dance competitions in the country, hosted by International Choreographer and dance maestro Sandip Soparrkar. This festival invites participants from across the country to celebrate dance, representing the diversity of dance forms practiced in the country.

The “3rd India Dance Week” was graced by legendary dancer himself, Govinda, and judged by a number of film and television celebrities like Gaurav Gera, Rahul Roy, Avika Gor, Jayati Bhatia, Suneeta Rao,  Eijaz khan, Ryoko De, Smita Bharti, Sanober Kabir, Vandana Sajanani and Aashima Sharma

Supporting a social cause and NGO’s like PETA and Advaitya. Actress Sharbani Mukherjee as the voice of the NGO’s introduced
Sandip Soparrkar’s unique dance act with the message ‘Save the Tiger – say no to circus and zoo’, while the judges performed an impromptu dance on their respective bollywood tracks.

Sandip Soparrkar said, “I am glad that ‘India Dance Week’ has reached such a platform that dancers from all over the country come and perform varied style of dances, this year we had 31 different dance forms on stage and I am glad that we could entertain as well as educate the people.”

Out of 600 applicants, 16 contestants reached the grand finale and the winners were : Bharatnatyam dancers Vaidehi Rele and Trusha Panchal from Nalanda Nritya Kala Mahavidyalaya. Followed by Rajasthani Kalbeliya group dancers and Mohiniyattam dancer grabbing the 1st and 2nd runner up respectively. English Waltz by Sushma Nair and Kamlesh Rajore a couple in the 60’s won the most inspirational award. Special kids from Little Angle school won the special recognition award.

“India Dance Week” is a festival that believes in uniting dancers and bringing the world of dances together and it was proved by this year’s event.
