Bio – If Bipasha Basu was not known for her sizzling popular item numbers, she would be known for her effective roles. She is one of the actresses whose glamour overshadows her acting skills. She entered in Bollywood with Abbass Mastan directed Ajnabee in which it was a glamorous and seductive role she played. A couple of other films that followed were Raaz and Jism in which she continued with her alluring image. Well in those days the main stream heroine was not portrayed in a alluring way nor was she a sex symbol. So Bipasha in those days became an exception. She was bold and her dusky hot appearance set her apart. The roles she took up one after the other created sensation. Today we see all main stream actresses fitting in the alluring siren roles. This was actually a trend set up Bipasha Basu in the early 2000s.

Bipasha Basu started modeling early. And soon she came to be counted among the best models. After being noticed on the ramp, Bipasha was seen in a popular music video by the Famous singer Sonu Nigam. In Ajnabee, Bipasha suited well the role of Sonia who with her boyfriend Akshay Kumar cheats a couple played by Kareena Kapoor and Bobby Deol. The character is seductive and cunning. Both the qualities she brought alive dexterously on screen. Bipasha ‘s big break was her led in the Vikram Bhatt film RAAZ opposite Dino Moria. The mystery film was a major hit of the year and Bipasha won appreciation from all quarters of the audience. It was in the film that her relationship with the model Dino Moria whom she knew before got strong and the two developed a serious relationship. Gunaah succeed Raaz starring the couple again and their steamy chemistry was the USP of the film. Not much mater Jism released and the actress was paired opposite John Abraham, another modeled turned actor who made his debut in the industry. Jism became a landmark in the careers of each of them and a sensation for that time in the film industry for its ultra boldness. It was strictly adult with explicit scenes between the lead characters who are engaged in an extra marital affair. Both the actors won oodles of applause for their performances. Amongst the success of Jism, John and Bipasha became a couple and this was no relationship to end any soon. They went on to remain in a serious committed relationship for about nine long years before their breakup in 2012.
