Kuch Kuch Locha hai and Piku box office prediction

box-office-prediction-kuch-kuch-locha-hai and Piku

This Friday, you have two movies hitting, which include Piku and Kuch Kuch Locha Hai. This week, the PR and marketing agencies had loads of scope to create a good hype for the two rival actresses – Deepika Padukone and Sunny Leone; however, they are not seen treading this path. Hence you can find both the movie being hitting theatres in a much independent ways without falling into any baggage. This simply means to the fact they would be playing basically over their merits.

In the list of two movies hitting this Friday, Piku is likely to get a good start. The reasons are obvious, you have higher star value with the presence of actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan, whist its director – Shoojit Sirchar is competent enough to add up various elements that can easily attract the audience. On the other side, you have Kuch Kuch Locha Hai lacks these elements, except the fact you have a former porn star ready to expose and garner some response for the film. No matter, she is able to develop a small time fan following but to beat the one of Big B, Deepika and Irrfan would be a difficult nut to crack.

Though with Ek Paheli Leela, she was even able to reach the interiors of India, yet she will not be able to give tough fight with her movie Kuch Kuch Locha Hai to Piku. Looking at the films, Piku is basically a family film revolving around relationship, which will garner a good response over the multiplexes both in smaller and bigger towns. Therefore it is expected to open with around 40 percent of occupancy, which is more likely to boost up with the positive word of mouth of its content.  Thus you can expect the movie to earn around 8 crores on its first day.

On the other side, Kuch Kuch Locha Hai could have done better had it reached the theatres after a sizeable kind of gap since Sunny’s last film Ek Paheli Leela. With a smaller gap Sunny Leone has her back to back release for the audience, which is likely to draw much attention as Piku will get. Hence you can expect the occupancy not more than 20 to 30 percent. This can only bring in the collection of around 3 to 4 crores on its first day. Let’s not forget the Akshay Kumar starrer film Gabbar Is Back, which will also pose a competition for Kuch Kuch Locha Hai, though it will not hamper much the other film Piku.
