Bhumi Pednekar wraps the shoot for Bhakshak

Bhakshak, a film produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and starring Bhumi Pednekar, finished filming last week in Lucknow. The film was shot in a single schedule over 39 days.

Red Chillies Entertainment took to their Twitter account and wrote, “It’s a wrap for Team #Bhakshak from a start-to-end 39-day schedule!
Inspired by true events, we are bringing to you a gritty tale of a heinous crime against women and their quest to seek justice, produced by @RedChilliesEnt and directed by @justpulkit
@bhumipednekar”

Bhakshak is based on true events and is set in the rustic and boisterous world of Bihar. It exposes the reality of crimes against women on the ground. The story follows an unshakable woman on her search for justice and her determination in bringing a horrible act to light. Bhumi Pednekar, who is known for her flexibility in portraying various characters in critically acclaimed and commercially successful films, will play a feisty journalist in Bhakshak, who swiftly discovers the ramifications, threats, and intimidation she may face when she uncovers a story.

In crucial roles, the film also features veteran actors Sanjay Mishra, Aditya Srivastava, and Sai Tamhankar apart from Bhumi Pednekar.

Bhakshak is co-written by Pulkit and Jyotsana Nath and directed by Pulkit, who previously helmed the critically acclaimed online series Bose: Dead or Alive. Bhakshak is a Red Chillies Entertainment production produced by Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma.
