Mahie Gill, Tigmanshu Dhulia with entire cast of web series Fixer attacked during shoot

fixerA recent video shared by the filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia on Twitter showed that actor Mahie Gill, along with the rest of the cast and crew members of a web series titled Fixer, are claiming that they were attacked by a group of drunk men on the sets while the cops allegedly refused to help them. Tigmanshu is also a part of this web series.

Sharing the video, Tigmanshu tweeted, “I was there when it happened on the sets of fixer at Mira road drunk goons thrashed our unit Santosh Dhundiyal cameraman got six stitches. Pathetic.”

Talking to a major media platform, he said,“Four to five drunk men walked in with sticks and started beating up crew members. At first I thought people are just having fun, but soon after a few seconds I realized that it was serious. I saw our cameraman bleeding, director on the ground… It was mayhem.”

The filmmaker inferred tat these men were belonged to a rival group who also in control of the respective area, even though the production house had proper permission along with the already paid confirmation fees for the location, as well.

The shooting was venturing at a factory in Mira Road in Thane district. Saawhney mentioning the facts in the video, said: “We have valid permissions, and had paid the necessary fee to the location manager. We had been shooting since 7 a.m., and suddenly around 4-4:30 p.m., some four drunk people came with sticks and rods and they started beating our artistes and technicians. They said this was their location and without their permission we cannot shoot here. There was no scope for dialogue or discussion. They handled our women badly, they manhandled our artistes.”

He pointed out that the director of photography had to get stitches on his forehead mentioning the major attack he faced. He also showed that the show’s director suffered from a shoulder dislocation. Mahie, talking about the attack said she escaped the attackers as she ran and sat in a car. further adding she said, “For the first time I have seen something like that.”

The matter was however not reported to the police. The crew mentioned in the video that they feared that the cops will not cooperate with them, hence it remains to be a “conscious decision” to not file a police complaint in this matter.

Expressing his shock concerned with the incident, Dhulia spoke a media platform, “This kind of act in Mumbai where we make films is unheard of. Shooting in Mumbai is troublesome, that is why I always move out of this city for my projects.”

Ekta Kapoor, who heads the streaming platform ALTBalaji also condemned this incident in a tweet: “Very very sad! Violence on sets of Fixer.”
