Yuvika Chaudhary, an actress, was arrested on Monday for reportedly uttering a casteist slur in a video. The Punjab and Haryana High Court granted Yuvika temporary bail after she was charged under the SC/ST Act.
ANI quoted the actress’ lawyer Ashok Bishnoi as, ‘My client has joined the investigation as per the guidelines given by the High Court and she is on interim bail now (in a case of alleged offensive remarks against Scheduled Castes on a social media platform).”
Yuvika got into controversy six months ago after she used a casteist slur in a vlog, which was met with backlash and she was ridiculed for it; she eventually apologised for hurting people’s feelings and posted an apologetic video.
She wrote, “Hi guys I didn’t know the meaning of that word that I used in my last vlog. I didn’t mean to hurt anyone and I can never do that to hurt someone. I apologise to each and everyone. I hope you all understand and love you all.”
Prince Narula, Yuvika’s husband and reality TV star, spoke out in favour of his wife. “Baby jo hua galti se hua. Don’t worry main aapke saath hoon aur aapne maafi bhi maang li hai so I love you,” he wrote.
While dealing with the paparazzi, Prince reacted to the situation once more. He stated that they do not believe in castes and that they would not have been allowed to marry each other if they did.
