Amitabh Bachchan consoles Aishwarya Rai at the prayer meet of Krishnaraj Rai
Like every father-in-law, Amitabh Bachchan was seen consoling daughter-in-law, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan at the prayer meet of the latter’s father, Krishnaraj Rai. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s father passed away in Mumbai on Saturday evening after a prolonged illness. As Aishwarya’s father was suffering from lymphoma cancer, his condition worsened and he was admitted to Lilavati Hospital two weeks ago. Thereafter, he was put on a ventilator at the Intensive Care Unit. Unfortunately, Krishnaraj Rai succumbed to the illness and passed away, leaving his near and dear ones in a state of misery.
Today, a prayer meet was held in Mumbai and it was a soothing site to see Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan standing rock-solid by Aishwarya’s side. In one of the pictures, we spotted Amitabh Bachchan talking to Aishwarya and consoling her and the latter, intently, listening to his wise words. A bevy of Bollywood stars were in attendance to pay their last respects to Krishnaraj Rai including Shah Rukh Khan, Ashutosh Gowariker, Kajol, Goldie Behl and many more.
Later, Mr. Bachchan posted a message on his blog which read, “That call you wait anxiously knowing that it will come, and come it does to end all other calls…glimpses of reactions in the mind, of the lost one, of those that shall reflect on the lost one…and suddenly then in the midst of sorrow and grief among the grieved and grieving.” Krishnaraj Rai’s funeral took place in the evening around 8:30 pm at Vile Parle Seva Sansthan Shamshan Bhoomi
