Bhumi Pednekar to star in Karan Boolani’s debut film, ‘Thank You For Cumming’

Bhumi Pednekar has starred in a number of socially significant films since her debut, including Dum Laga Ke Haisha, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Saand Ki Aankh, Bala, and Badhaai Do, to mention a few. Pinkvilla has learned exclusively that the actress has joined Rhea Kapoor’s husband Karan Boolani’s directorial debut, Thank You For Cumming.

“As suggested by the title, it’s another social comedy. The film is produced by Rhea Kapoor under her banner and is in conversation with another leading producer to come on board as the studio partner. The team has silently started shooting for the film in Delhi and are in the process of calling it a wrap by the end of this month,” revealed a source close to the development to Pinkvilla.

Given that it isn’t exactly a theatrically acceptable subject, there’s a good chance this will be a straight to digital release. Even Anil Kapoor is rumoured to be a part of this project in a significant role, although we have yet to receive confirmation of his presence in the film.

“The film will be ready for release in the next couple of months. An official announcement about the title and star cast will be made once the shoot is wrapped up,” the source added.

Meanwhile, Raksha Bandhan and Govinda Naam Mera are two films that Bhumi Pednekar is preparing for release in 2022.

The actress is also set to begin filming for Anubhav Sinha’s Bheed, which will see her reunited with Rajkummar Rao. Karan Boolani has been hoping to make his directorial debut for a while now, and he is now getting his wish by working as a director on set.
