Akshay’s Gold Movie Trailer Review

Gold Movie

The  trailer of the film Gold directed by Reema Kagti has finally hit recently, which appears to be a big Independence Day sports film having Akshay Kumar at the key role. The film has showcased Akshay Kumar for the things he is known for doing pitching for country and flag. And there is  a loud jingoistic  feel one can feel in the trailer, as we see the director allowed all the systems simply move into creating a feverish pitch like  hockey that tends to have taken a center-stage once again. On the face of it, the film appears like the SRK starrer movie Chak De, however, as you look at the two they differ a lot.
In one movie we have SRK playing the Coach, while on the other side we have Akshay playing the player who brings the gold. So, at one end we have SRK missing the gold on the other side we have Akki bringing the same. However, as you dig deep the film seems to be good technically but seems to have failed to see Akki trying something that does not seem cool to the man for playing the Bengali character. We can find some good dialogues coming from the actor but will these translate into a big time film for the independence day would be an interesting thing to consider.
However, we see the film working in one way when we see the TV actress Mouni Roy playing the role of Akki’s wife and seen him bullying to often her hubby keeping away from his Olympian dreams but when the table turns, she is seen even praying for her husband’s victory. Akshay loves to be bullied over the screen and we have seen him over a couple of his movies including Jolly LLB 2 , Toilet Ek Prem Katha, Padman, and so on. Mouni to is seen wearing the pants  in this relationship as well and thus keeping  Akshay happy. Gold seems to have a warm rugged feeling to it while it misses the spirit of Nostalgia along with the sportsmanship, which rule the theme that appear to be the pre-conditions for a  sincere movie.
