Bellbottom: After 4 weeks of theatrical release, Akshay Kumar’s film to premiere on Amazon Prime Video!

Bellbottom, the much-anticipated Akshay Kumar film, was released in Indian theatres yesterday. Despite the Covid-19 restrictions, the film’s producers distributed Bellbottom in India on 1600 theatres. However, with restricted seating capacity, the venture’s overall profitability will undoubtedly be impacted. Despite this, the film industry has praised Vashu Bhagnani and Akshay Kumar for taking a significant first step toward revitalising the exhibition market. While Bellbottom is still playing in theatres, Bollywood Hungama has information about its digital release.

A trade source informed the portal, “The makers of Bellbottom and Akshay Kumar have the option to release the film on the digital platform after four weeks from its theatrical release. In fact, Amazon Prime Video has already acquired the streaming rights of Bellbottom and will premiere the film on its OTT streaming platform.”

“The producer of Bellbottom Vashu Bhagnani wanted to premiere the film on OTT two weeks after its release. However, with national multiplex chains negotiating the theatrical release and terms, Bhagnani finally settled for four weeks,” the source adds.

According to the terms of the deal, after September 15, Pooja Entertainment, the film’s producers, can freely debut the film on Amazon Prime Video. However, the film’s creators and the streaming site have yet to set a specific release date. According to insiders, the film’s makers will decide on an OTT launch date in the near future. According to industry rumours, the film will be released digitally in the last week of September.
