Batman Forever Fame Director Joel Schumacher no More

In the recent buzz in the global cinema world, we see the known filmmaker Joel Schumacher passing away. He was 80 who died in New York City after battling with cancer for around one year. Before entering into filmmaking, Joel Schumacher has come a long way. He has also worked in costume designing and stylish as well before working as a director in three big films like Fire of St. Elmo, The Lost Boys, and Batman And Robin. 

Joel Schumacher was born and brought up in New York City and did his design studies coming out in flying colors in his college. He then started designing clothes with Halston for the city’s famed department stores before her got his first break in films as costume designer in 1972. He was able to contribute in costumed designing that helped him work with top celebs like designing costumes for Stephen Sondheim and Neil Simon adaptations along with the two films by his friend Woody Allen. 

He soon entered into filmmaking writing his films like D.C. Cab (1983), and St. Elmo’s Fire (1985) to name a few. He then worked in teen vampire flick The Lost Boys (1987). Both his films had bagged a huge commercial success at the box office. He then did a number of other films including the medical horror film Flatliners (1990) and Michael Douglas drama Falling Down (1993) before he took up the franchise of Batman.
