It seems that social media has become a bastion to yell at different entertaining platforms including streaming giants like Netflix. We see fringe elements always been vocal against films and shows releasing on these platforms. The latest one remains Netflix as the film Navarasa by Mani Ratnam released recently on the said streaming platform. Many of the people on the microblogging site came forward to agitate against the film and even the streaming platform on social media.
The film seemed to have come under a severe kind of scrutiny by an organization for hurting religious sentiments. Now, the question, why the buzz against Netflix, which brings the hashtag #BanNetflix that goes on to trend on Twitter? Well, the filmmaker Mani Ratnam has now come up with his anthology based movie released this weekend on Netflix. The film gained mixed reviews, however, the religious groups like Raza Academy which tweeted about saying that the film has hurt their sentiments and went on to say that it has insulted their sacred book Quran as well. Thus they are demanding strict action against the popular OTT platform.
