The film, PM Narendra Modi, starring Vivek Oberoi in the pivotal role that tracks the life of Prime Minister Narendra Modi right from his childhood days to becoming the Prime Minister of the country is said to handling the pressure of postponement.

Sources are mentioning that the release of PM Narendra Modi, a biopic on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has been postponed. Helmed by the talented director, Omung Kumar, PM Narendra Modi, doesn’t have a release date as of now.

The producer Sandip Ssingh took on his Twitter handle to share the same, “This is to confirm, our film ‘PM Narendra Modi’ is not releasing on 5th April. Will update soon.”

The lawyer of the filmmakers told the media that the prime reason for the delayed release is due to the much-awaited clearance from Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

With Lok Sabha elections round the corner, the release of PM Narendra Modi has also generated a hot debate within the opposition parties calling it a ‘propaganda film’. The Omung Kumar directorial also underwent the scanner of Election Commission due to Congress and other opposition parties complained demand on violation of the Model Code of Conduct with the film.

EC had also sent a letter to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in which it clarified that the Censor Board has the last word for such matters. It has also mentioned that the Censor Board has the prime responsibility on how it would certify this political film when the Model Code is in effect.

Reacting on all such unnecessary criticism against the film, Vivek Oberoi also mentioned his views on the same, saying, “Why are such senior and famous lawyers like Abhishek Singhvi Ji and Kapil Sibal ji wasting time on filing a PIL on such a modest film? Don’t know if they are scared of the film or of Chowkidar’s danda. We are not projecting Modi Ji as a hero, he already is a hero, not only for me but for crores of people in India and abroad. It is an inspirational story which we brought to the screen.”
