Siddharth Anand’s Bang Bang really banged the box office with incredible force the moment it hit on 2nd October 2014. The long weekend really helped the movie garner a good collection, which helped it to enter into the 100 Crore club in just few days. The movie really proved out to be a great comeback for Siddharth Anand giving some really good collection if we add up both the domestic and international collections. Made up at a whopping amount of 280 crores the movie was able to surpass that amount especially while considering both the collections. Haider with same day release also hampered the collection just in the first week but also for a longer run.
Thus at the end of four weeks the collection of Bang Bang seemed crawling and it has finally seen stagnating with a figure of 179 crores in the domestic market. Considering the whopping budget the movie cannot be called as a blockbuster unlike Kick and other movies doing wonders over the Box office. Secondly, if we compare it with Haider, which seemed making mere 60 crores, is called as a hit considering the low budget it has for movie making. Also, critically speaking most of the critics have given 2.5 to 3.5 stars, which means an average, while the stagnating figures of 179 core plus the global collection simply makes it just above the average commercially hit movie and of course not a blockbuster movie. And Happy New Year releasing last week simply dominated both Bang Bang and Haider giving a full stop to the two.
