Shaitaan Box Office Day 2 Collection: R Madhavan, Ajay Devgn Starrer Surges, Mints Over ₹18 Crore

On the second day of its release, the movie “Shaitaan,” directed by Vikas Bahl and featuring Ajay Devgn, Jyotika, and R Madhavan in lead roles, witnessed a notable surge in its box office collection. The film, which hit theaters on Friday, continued its strong performance, with early estimates indicating a collection of ₹18.25 crore in India, as reported by Sacnilk.com. This brings the total collection in India to ₹33 crore net. According to the report, the film achieved an overall occupancy of 33.65 percent in Hindi.

A Hindi adaptation of the 2023 Gujarati horror film “Vash,” written and directed by Krishnadev Yagnik, “Shaitaan” is a supernatural thriller that delves into the realm of black magic.

In terms of reviews, users on X platform expressed positive feedback for the film. One user lauded it as “a powerful edge-of-the-seat thriller with outstanding performances by Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan, dragging the audience into its stride,” while another remarked on the scarcity of tense and gripping moments, expressing disappointment with the climax.

During the trailer launch, Ajay Devgn shared his enthusiasm for delving into horror and supernatural narratives, citing them as among his favorite genres. He expressed his eagerness to explore this genre again in “Shaitaan” after the success of his 2003 hit “Bhoot,” stating, “It’s not that we (superstars) don’t want to do horror films. If we get something interesting, then why not?… I like this genre and I was waiting to explore it again. When I did ‘Bhoot,’ we got a lot of appreciation. After that, I didn’t get any script that was good in this genre,” as quoted by PTI.

The film, produced by Devgn, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak under the banners Ajay Devgn Films and Panorama Studios, along with Jio Studios, has already sparked discussions about a potential sequel, as revealed by Pathak in a PTI report.
