Yami Gautam Dhar call out Anupama Chopra for questioning her acting talent in Dasvi

Yami Gautam Dhar recently slammed the movie critic Anupama Chopra led organisation “Film Companion” on Twitter. The actress whose latest film Dasvi was released on Netflix on Thursday.

The actress slammed the movie over a review of her movie. The Bollywood actor criticized the organisation in a series of Tweets for disparaging her acting ability while reviewing ‘Dasvi,’ starring Abhishek Bachchan and Yami Gautam Dhar.

The actor uploaded a screenshot of an excerpt from a Film Companion article in which the entertainment journalism website criticises Yami Gautam Dhar’s performance in the film. The platform noted, while criticising the film as “juvenile storytelling,” the platform wrote, “Yami Gautam is no longer the dead girlfriend in Hindi films, but the combative smile is starting to get repetitive.”

Taking offence to the remarks, Yami Gautam Tweeted, “Before I say anything else, I’d like to say that I usually take constructive criticism in my stride. But when a certain platform keeps trying to pull you down consistently, I felt it necessary to speak up about it”.
In her following Tweet, the actor chastised Film Companion for ‘reviewing’ her work purely on the basis of her performance in this particular film, despite the fact that she has provided some great popular movies such as ‘A Thursday,’ ‘Bala,’ ‘Uri,’ and so on. “It’s extremely disrespectful!” she lambasted.

“It takes years of hard work for anyone & especially a self-made actor like me to keep proving our mettle again & again with every opportunity. This is what it comes down to from certain reputed portals!” Yami Gautam Dhar added.

She went on to say how painful it is since, like many others in the industry, she used to look up to Film Companion, but she hasn’t done so in a long time.“I would request you not to ‘review’ my performance henceforth ! I’ll find grace in that & it’ll be less painful,” Yami said, tearing into the organisation for mocking the actor’s acting skills.

Dasvi, starring Abhishek Bachchan and co-starring Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur, released on Netflix and Jio Cinema on April 7, 2022. Abhishek Bachchan portrayed Ganga Ram Chaudhary, the CM of a fictitious Harit Pradesh who is imprisoned for the teacher recruitment scam. While imprisoned, Ganga Ram Chaudhary, whose education ended in Class 8, intends to take the Standard X (dasvi) examination. Jyoti Deswal (Yami Gautam Dhar), the unwavering and courageous superintendent, eventually assists Chaudhary in his endeavour. Since its premiere, the film has received a mixed bag of reviews.
