Despite getting an average rating from most of the critics, Daawat-e-Ishq has done a better business as compared to Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan starrer Khoobsurat. Dawaat-e-Ishq is produced by Aditya Chopra, while was directed by Habib Faisal starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Parineeti Chopra. Being released in more than 3000 screens, the movie faired up as compared to its rival release the first weekend. The characters played by both the actors were appreciated by the audience giving a collection of 4.75 at the very first day of its release.
The second day collection (Saturday) went up with the figure of around 6 crores, while the next day, which was its third day of release (Sunday), the movie got the collection of around 6.5. Thus the total figure went to around 17.25, which is still average opening if you compare with the other big hits of this year. Though the expectations for the movie were really good, however, considering the competition found outside, the collection went to average thus tarnishing the expectations of others. In fact, even the movies like Finding Fanny, which was released last week also came in its way and hampered the collection at this week.
