Renowned classical music singer Shyamala G Bhave died of cardiac arrest on Thursday. She was 79 years old. Bhave was well versed in Hindustani style as well as Carnatic music. She was conferred with ‘Ubhay Gaan Vidushi’.
She was ill for some time. She was discharged from the hospital three days earlier. After this, her health continued to deteriorate and she breathed her last on Friday morning.
She won a music competition at the age of six and started performing music from the age of 12.
