Recently, the team of Brahmastra including Ayan Mukerji, Ranbir Kapoor, and Alia Bhatt was seen in IPL 2022‘s first match promoting their upcoming film. While this promotional event, Ayan was asked about his top choice for casting a cricketer in Brahmastra. To which without any hesitation the director replied Virat Kohli. Debriefing his answer he said, “All my answers related to cricket are always about Virat Kohli. Brahmastra needs a true superstar spirit, so I would cast Virat Kohli.”
Apart from that, the team also talked about their love for sports. Recalling his days of playing football with MS Dhoni, Ranbir Kapoor said, “I have learnt so much from MS Dhoni during a football game. I have had the good fortune of playing a couple of matches with the entire Indian cricket team and they are such good football players. MS Dhoni is a genius.”
He added, “I appreciate his mentality, demeanor and humility. When you talk to him, he is always listening to you and he will never speak extra. He is really a great guy.”
Meanwhile, talking about Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor starrer Brahmastra, the film has been in the works for a long time. Apart from Alia and Ranbir, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna also appear in the film, which is directed by Ayan Mukerji of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani fame. Shah Rukh Khan is said to make a cameo appearance. The film is a fantasy epic that is only the first installment in a planned trilogy. The film has a September 9 release date, however, it has previously been postponed, first owing to reshoots and then due to the pandemic.
