Following the phenomenal success of the popular show Balika Vadhu, the producers have announced a second season with a whole new cast. The new show will premiere on August 9, and fans are giddy with anticipation. Despite the fact that Avika Gor, who played young Anandi in the first season, will not appear in the second, In order to promote the new season of the daily serial, the South actress will lend her support to it on numerous platforms.

Avika told Etimes, “I will be telling people to watch the new season because it’s very similar to the first one. I have a soft corner for BV…it changed my life. So, when I was approached to become a part of the new journey in a small way, I jumped at the opportunity.”

Avika, on the other hand, not only wanted to promote Balika Vadhu 2, but she also wanted to play the grown-up Anandi.

“Oh my God! I would have loved to play the grown-up Anandi in Balika Vadhu 2. I would have jumped into it. Why not? The show has given me so much as an artist. Had the makers offered the part to me, I am sure that I would have tears in my eyes and a smile on my lips, and would want to be a part of it for sure. I would have loved to do it, but unfortunately, I have a lot of commitments down South. So, it is practically not possible,” she was quoted as saying.

When asked if it’s difficult to see someone else play Anandi, Avika said it’s the same emotion she experienced when she left the programme and the late actress Pratyusha Banerjee took over as the new Anandi.

Meanwhile, in Balika Vadhu 2, Shreya Patel and Vansh Sayani have taken over the roles of Anandi and Jagdish from Avika Gor and Avinash Mukherjee for the new season.
