Auritra Ghosh is an actress, dancer, and choreographer who hails from Jamshedpur. She was born in Jharkhand and later shifted to Delhi where she was raised. She did her schooling from Delhi and started working when she was 16. In the year In 2001, she joined The Danceworx – Performing Arts Academy as she wanted to explore the field of performing arts. She got trained in different forms of dance including jazz, ballet, and contemporary dance apart from the classical ones. The very next year she was an instructor and choreographer and got the chance to work with top names in the dance world.
She got the chance to represent the nation at the Fontys Academy’s International Dance Festival, which was held in Tilburg, the Netherlands in 2007. She then performed at numerous theatre productions like the adaptation of the award-winning play called August: Osage County. It was directed by Lillete Dubey. She is now the part of the exciting cast of ‘STAND UP: a serious play about comedy’ called the Akvarious which is a known Theatre Production group. She then got the chance to work in a couple of short films including Shaadi Vaadi And All That Yesterday with Kunaal Roy Kapur produced by MTV along with Happy Anniversary by Pramod Films.
She has worked with a couple of Bollywood films as well doing her debut with Love Breakup Zindagi working as Gayatri. Her other movies include Swen, All The Lost Souls, Boring A Day of Life, the short film The Strangers, Dharam Sankat Mein, M Cream, High Jack and the upcoming Good News with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Akshay Kumar. Some of the recent web series include Holy Cross as Dr. Rhea at Sony Liv, Love on the Rocks – Episode: Swipe Right as Meera in MensXP and in Siya as Siya. She was also the part of digital sci-fi thriller A.I.SHA My Virtual Girlfriend along with the Y-Films production Ladies’ Room.
