Aspiring Songwriter Sohail Pasha Arrested by Mumbai Police for Issuing Rs 5 Crore Death Threat to Salman Khan in Lawrence Bishnoi’s Name

On Tuesday, Mumbai Police apprehended an aspiring songwriter accused of sending threatening messages to Bollywood actor Salman Khan, demanding Rs. 5 crores while invoking the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, according to officials. The police identified the suspect as Sohail Pasha, who was arrested in Raichur, Karnataka. Authorities believe Pasha concocted this scheme to promote a song he wrote. On November 7, the Mumbai traffic police’s WhatsApp helpline received multiple messages claiming the sender was affiliated with the Bishnoi gang, threatening to kill Salman Khan unless he paid the ransom.

The messages also included a warning that the writer of the song “Main Sikandar Hoon” would face dire consequences. The Mumbai Police crime branch traced the mobile number used for the threats back to Raichur. A team was dispatched to Karnataka, where they questioned Vyankatesh Narayan, the owner of the number. However, they found that Narayan’s phone lacked internet access. Further investigation revealed that his phone had received an OTP for WhatsApp installation, prompting deeper inquiries.

Narayan explained to police that on November 3, a stranger had approached him in a marketplace, asking to borrow his phone for a call. Investigations uncovered that this individual used Narayan’s phone number to install WhatsApp on his own device by acquiring the OTP. The crime branch subsequently tracked down the suspect to Pasha in Manavi village near Raichur.

Pasha, who is the writer of “Main Sikandar Hoon,” confessed that he orchestrated the scheme to gain publicity for his song by linking it to a threat against Salman Khan. He was transported to Mumbai and handed over to the Worli police for further investigation. The traffic police helpline had previously received at least four threatening messages aimed at Salman Khan in recent months.
